Most Nurburgring accidents and crashes could be avoided.

Driving the Nurburgring Nordschleife is one of the most exciting things you can do.

Most exciting things are great fun but usually have risks involved.


This is a sight and sound most Nurburgring fans hate to see.

The track is closed as the accident is cleared up.


One risk at the Nurburgring is having a crash after travelling too fast.

The purpose of this page is not to glamourise accidents but to remind you of the simple facts.

If you drive a car or ride a bike on a road at unsuitable speeds, you may have an unfortunate incident.

F1 champ Jackie Stewart wasn't joking when he called the Ring the "Green Hell".  It really is a unique challenge.

There is little run off area, so avoiding showing off for the crowds.


A gentle impact is followed by the old tyre kick trick.


Be sensible on the Ring.  Do not try to set lap records or expect to race anyone.  Have a safe time while experiencing a very unique place.

Nurburgring track days have marshalls and driver tuition.  There is less traffic therefore enabling you to increase your pace safely. 

If you want to go faster then book yourself on a track day.  The "Ring" is then closed to the general public.



Try not to end up like the owner of this damaged BMW.  Be safe on the Ring.


Always drive within your limits and decrease your pace when the weather is wet.
