Hohe Acht Tower

The Hohe Acht corner is named after the mountain which towers above it.

The Hohe Acht is the highest peak in the Eifel mountains of Germany.

At it's summit is the Emperor William Tower.  It was built in 1908/09 to be an observation tower and is 16.30 metres (53.5 ft) high.

The walls are one metre thick at ground level.  The tower is now a protected monument.

The tower is quite a climb to see but the views are fantastic in all directions.

During the winter you can enjoy very good winter sport facilities such as cross country skiing trails, toboggan runs and ski lifts.

The pathway goes up and up and up.

The views get better and better.

Keep on walking up the winding pathway.

Almost there.......

The Emperor William Tower in all it's splendor

Lets have a look inside.

Just a few flights of stairs to the top.

Michelsberg is another mountain you view from the tower.

There is no denying the views are amazing.

You can see the Nurburg Castle in the distance.  The main straight of the Nurburgring Nordschleife is behind it.
