Nurburgring Castle

When you visit the Nurburgring, you will see the Castle Nurburg (constructed 1166) from a variety of places around the track. 

It's well worth a visit if you have the time.  The castle has many exciting places to explore and the views from the tower are amazing.

You will enjoy the landscape and peaks of the Nurburgring beautiful Eifel region.

You have to walk past some ruins on your way up the castle entrance.

It's a short climb up to the Castle entrance.

This is the just inside the castle doors.

It's nice to wander around and explore the grounds.

You can climb the tower to enjoy a good look over the surrounding Eifel countryside.

There are plenty of interesting sights to see.

Nice scenery in all directions.

Historic walkways are in every direction.

You enter inside the tower and look up at the climb ahead.

It can get a little dark in here.

These arrowslits don't help with the lighting situation.  Good for defending the castle though.

Keep climbing the spiral staircase.

Almost at the top.

Enjoy the amazing views.

Below is the lovely Nurburg village.

You can see the Nurburgring Dottinger-Hohe straight next to the petrol station.

A small fee in the telescope allows you to see far and wide.
