Travelling to the Nurburgring is like visiting any destination, you need to consider your journey wisely.
There are many directions of route you can choose. Plan your Nurburgring trip using the information below.
The first thing you have to ask yourself is, do I need a passport and is it in date?

You need to make sure everything is in order before setting off to the Nordschleife.
Before starting your journey make sure your vehicle is ready for the task ahead.
Check your oil level, tyres and brakes are ready for the long journey.
Your car may develop a fault or worse still you could have an accident on your visit to the Nurburgring.
Having adequate roadside cover for all situations is essential.

You may have to get your car back to the U.K so make sure your policy will cover this. A lot of companies exclude the "Ring" and other de restricted European toll roads from their cover.
A good option is to get cover from the excellent German breakdown company ADAC.

ADAC offer recovery from the Nurburgring and for an extra charge will get your car back to the U.K if need be.
Please consider carefully all options before paying for cover, find out the pros and cons before spending your money.
Most people have access to the Satellite Navigation option. You may have a dedicated unit or your smart phone may have a suitable programme installed. They make travelling so easy today.

It is always wise to have a map and a route plan on paper as a back up incase you have an issue with your Sat Nav.

Many visitors use their own cars or bikes as “Ring” transport but if you are a UK resident you will have to use a Ferry to get your vehicle to the continent.
The most common ferry crossings to the continent are Dover to Calais, Dover to Dunkirk and Hull to Rotterdam.
You can of course use the Euro Tunnel which is faster but more expensive.
Once you have arrived in France or Holland, you have fairly long drive ahead to the Nurburgring. Not that you'll mind, your desination is a fantastic race track.
You can fly to four airports which are near to the Nordschleife, you will of course have to hire a vehicle for the remainder of your journey to the track.
These airports are called Frankfurt Hahn, Frankfurt Main and Koln/Bonn.

You can get to Nurburgring by Train and Bus, but it's far easier to drive direct.
