Nurburgring Weather

The  Nurburgring    is situated in the micro climate of the Eifel Mountains.

One minute the weather is dry and sunny, the next a rain shower can rapidly appear out of nowhere.

The area the Nordschleife covers is vast which means you may experience wet and dry conditions on a single lap.

Prepare yourself for all kinds of situations and travel sensibly when the track is wet.

Below is the weather forecast for Adenau. A town the Nurburgring passes through.

Look at the Nurburgring  web cams    for a live look at the weather.

You can see how slippy the track is when wet.  The rear of the Caterham steps out of line very easily with just a dab of throttle.  The car is heading for Eschbach.

Again the same car is struggling for grip trying to power out of Brunnchen.

Always try to drive smoothly in the wet.

Here is a short clip to show how bad the rain can be.

A crowd happily waits for the start of the 2005 ADAC Nurburgring 24hr race.

You can tell how cold it was by the vapour off Joes breath.  The month was May !!
